I have insecurities, too, don’t you? We all do. It is human nature to compare ourselves with others to obtain a sense of where we stand in life, but it might be stressful and detrimental. Let me tell you why comparing yourself with others should be avoided.

We only see the best in people when they post on Facebook or Instagram while hiding other aspects of their lives that may not seem as glamorous. Comparing ourselves to others who appear to be enjoying extraordinary lives might set us down a road of low self-esteem or depression, causing us to feel worse than before because we believe there is no way out for us.

As we begin to reflect on this challenging year, it’s too easy to compare our insecurities to other people’s highlight reels. It’s like we’re in a race where everyone gets a head start except for us. Let us consider the following points before we go down the rabbit hole.
